Our beautiful new home in the heart of historic Venice will benefit thousands of students, researchers and partners from all over the world.
Overlooking the Grand Canal, the space within the Palazzo Giustinian Lolin building will be used as an all-year round centre for seminars, summer schools and degree modules.

Our history in Venice
We first opened a base in Venice in 1967 and Warwick is believed to be one of the only universities in the world to have a permanent base in the city.
Dating back to the 17th century, the baroque-style building will provide a once in a lifetime opportunity for students to immerse themselves in the history, art and culture of this amazing city.
Our famous ‘Venice’ term allows history and history of art students to study the Renaissance in situ – to see the Renaissance come alive in the buildings and artworks of Venice, led by world class teachers and experts.
The unique programme has been a hugely important experience for many generations of Warwick students and underlines our deep commitment to the arts and international collaborations.
We hope Palazzo Giustinian Lolin will be used by partners, researchers and other disciplines over the coming years – so that it become a space for the whole university to benefit from.

We already work closely with Ca’ Foscari (University of Venice), one of the EUTOPIA partners, and our base will help us further strengthen our education and research work with them.

Warwick signs agreement with Università Ca' Foscari in Venice
The University of Warwick has announced a collaboration with Università Ca' Foscari in Venice spanning a number of activities. As well as opportunities to develop joint courses, the agreement includes a 2-year postdoctoral position based at Ca' Foscari researching the history of the relationship between Venice and Asia. In addition Warwick will work with Ca' Foscari to deliver the long-running Warwick in Venice programme, enabling Warwick students to benefit from the new closer links during their term in Venice.
