Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR)

All undergraduates who studied in the academic year 2019/20 and/or 2022/23, whose examination assessment for a module could not take place due to COVID-19 (2019/20), or national strikes and assessment boycotts (2022/23), may download a letter from the Academic RegistrarLink opens in a new window.

This letter explains that where an examination assessment for a module could not take place, or could not be marked, this has resulted in a “zero” being displayed on the HEAR statement. The zero and absence of a mark simply means there was no opportunity to complete the assessment or marking and should not be read as lack of or unsuccessful engagement with those elements of the module.

This is also explained within the HEAR document where the below text will display if an examination assessment for a module could not take place due to COVID-19, or could not be marked due to the assessment boycott, and this has resulted in a “zero” being displayed on the HEAR statement.

** In certain situations, as an assessment for a module could not take place OR could not be marked and this has resulted in a "zero" being displayed on the HEAR statement. The zero and absence of a mark simply means there was no opportunity to complete the assessment or marking has been disrupted and should not be read as unsuccessful engagement with the module.

The University of Warwick has implemented the Higher Education Achievement Report (HEARLink opens in a new window) for undergraduate students from 2012 onwards.

The HEAR replaces the previous hard-copy academic transcript for undergraduate students. As the HEAR is delivered online through the third-party service called GradIntelLink opens in a new window, we will need to share your data with GradIntel so that they can provide you with access to your HEAR.

The HEAR acts as a cumulative, formative record until a student graduates, at which stage it is finalised and becomes the formal official record of study, including module marks and degree classification.

As well as including details of academic achievement, will also provide information about your programme of study and approved additional achievements or activities you may have undertaken whilst at Warwick. For more information on what data will be included in a HEAR.Link opens in a new window

You will be able to give third parties, such as potential employers or other Higher Education institutions, secure access to your HEAR. It is intended that the information provided on the HEAR will prove useful both to graduates entering the job market and to employers as well as other Higher Education institutions.

Final-year undergraduates: your complete, finalised HEAR will not normally be available until mid/late August in the year of graduation, following validation and recording of your academic data. Degree and module results only, however, will be made available via your HEAR earlier than this where possible.

Please note - it is important that you do not set up your own GradIntel account as this will not link with your University of Warwick data, and would mean we cannot use that email address to register your account.

Data protection
Both the HEAR and Digital Certificates are delivered online through the Gradintelligence Software. Data is shared to selected third parties as part of your student journey in line with the Student Privacy Notice. This is to fulfil contractual obligations necessary for the performance of your student contract. If you wish to request access removal you must email customerservices@gradintel.com. If you do request access removal you will not be able to access your HEAR or your digital certificate in future.
